Tools for Supporting Students’ Life Project Development in Technical Education

This guide provides practical tools and methodologies for teachers and counsellors in Ecuador’s technical upper secondary schools to help students design and manage their life projects (proyectos de vida). Developed under the Programa de Educación y Formación Técnica y Profesional, it supports the integration of personal, academic, and professional guidance within the curriculum to promote holistic development and informed decision-making about future careers and studies.

The publication includes reflective exercises, planning templates, and facilitation techniques to help students identify goals, values, strengths, and interests. It also offers strategies for linking life projects with technical specialisations and labour market opportunities. By guiding students to envision and plan their personal and professional futures, the manual strengthens motivation, autonomy, and employability within Ecuador’s technical education system.
