Negotiation Manual for Linking Technical Education with the Social and Productive Sector

This manual provides practical guidance for technical secondary school teachers and coordinators in Ecuador to strengthen partnerships between education and the productive sector. Developed under VVOB’s Skilling for Sustainable Futures programme, it supports educators in negotiating and managing collaborations that enhance student learning and employability through internships, technical updates, and joint projects with companies and institutions.

The publication outlines a step-by-step negotiation process—before, during, and after meetings—and includes tools such as a mapping template for partner identification, checklists, and communication strategies. By promoting mutually beneficial agreements, it helps link technical education with local economic development, ensuring that students in technical upper secondary education gain real-world skills aligned with labour market demands.
