Emergent Literacy Skills and Language Rich Learning Environments is a professional development material for preschool school leaders and teachers developed by VVOB. The course structure is divided into two main parts:

• Booklet 1 (Modules 1–3): Presents core content on language development, multilingual education, and practical strategies to integrate foundational emergent literacy skills into the ECE curriculum.
• Booklet 2 (Modules 4–6): Provides guidance on creating a language rich learning environment, combining interactive storytelling techniques to enhance the quality of support for children.

This material is useful to all preschool teachers, including those in classrooms with learners using one or multiple languages. Practicing quality interactions in the classroom environment enhances all children's development and is in line with child-centered approaches and Learning through Play. The content aims to support teachers in establishing age-appropriate language development practices (throughout the entire classroom environment, learning activities, and interactions). This helps children from different socio-economic and socio-cultural backgrounds to develop to their full potential.
