The 2026 KEMI International Conference on Education Leadership will host the official national launch of the Spotlight on basic education completion and foundational learning Kenya country report. Produced in partnership with the Ministry of Education the Kenya country report, the report is part of the third cycle of the Series, which examines instructional leadership as a pivotal factor in improving foundational learning.
The report aims to supportthe achievement of SDG 4.1: universal completion of primary education with foundational literacy and numeracy. Kenya is among five focus countries for the 2024–2025 cycle, alongside Morocco, Côte d’Ivoire, Cameroon, and Zimbabwe. This report offers country-specific insights aligned with Kenya's education reform agenda, especially the Competency-Based Education (CBE).
VVOB will present the paper: Reinventing School Leadership for Equity and Sustainability: Comparative Lessons from Malawi, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania.
