VVOB in Zambia

VVOB – education for development is an international non-profit organisation with over 40 years’ experience in strengthening the quality of education systems in Africa, Asia and South America in close partnership with ministries of education and their institutions.

In Zambia, VVOB has been supporting education since 1986, working closely with the Ministry of Education to enhance education quality and improve learning outcomes. This includes a long-history in early childhood education, where we have reached over 12,000 teachers to improve early childhood education, while also introducing innovative practices such as play-based pedagogies and gender-responsive early childhood teaching. In primary education, on an annual basis, we work with the Ministry to reach nearly 1 million children to improve their literacy and numeracy skills in over 6,000 schools through the Catch Up programme.
